family continuum Developmental movement

Family Continuum Developmental Movement sessions empower parents and support babies from birth to independent walking, utilizing the Child’Space® Method. Child’Space® was created by Dr. Chava Shelhav and is based on the principles of the Feldenkrais Method. This method is based on teaching parents how observation, routine activities and play with their babies can stimulate developing motor, cognitive, social/emotional and can improve co-regulation between baby and parent. Child’Space® helps parents and caregivers by empowering them to observe their babies and learn specific hands on techniques to support their baby’s development. In a private Child’Space® session the specific needs of each baby and the concerns and questions of the parent will be addressed.

Movement is Life. Life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.
— Moshe Feldenkrais, PhD

Wellness Baby Visit

These visits are great for any age from birth to independent walking.  These are available for those who would like periodic advice on ways to support their baby’s development.

In my 35 year career as a physical therapist, I have studied many treatment techniques in an effort to better help the children I work with. In my opinion, the best overall technique for working with babies is Child’Space. In addition to addressing the relationship between parent and infant, Child’Space addresses all areas of development: gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, vision, speech and language. Child’Space is very effective.
